First, I would like to point out that its not "Yoga" it's "Yog." Yog, to put it simply, is gaining mastery over the mind and observing your thoughts when you are holding a challenging posture. It is focusing on your breath and regulates it. Yog is not just about Asanas; Yog is much more beyond that. Hata Yog is just one of the eight forms of Yog. Yoga initially was like any other workout for me: stretching, blood flow etc. But asI progressed in mypractice, the most significant change I started to notice was paying attention to details in my everyday observation. This, in itself, is a significant breakthrough for me as I started seeing things more 'clearly'.
