Its not necessary to practice yoga only in the morning, it can be practiced any time whenever you feel like but it os adviced to practice in the morning to boost your stamina and energy level for the whole day.

You may practice yoga in the evening too. Morning is preferable but there is no compulsion if the routine doesn't suit your lifestyle. Just make sure you are empty stomach (snacking at least two hours before the practice is okay.) and well hydrated to avoid cramps.
