योगासनों का अभ्यास करते समय इन बातों का ध्यान रखें

1- आसनों का अभ्यास करने के लिए जमीन पर एक अच्छा रबड़ मैट या आसन अवश्य बिछाएं ।

2- आसन करने का स्थान उचित हवादार होना चाहिए ।

3- आसन करने के लिए सबसे बढ़िया समय प्रातः काल का रहता है शाम के समय भी आसनों का अभ्यास हवादार और अनुकूल वातावरण में किया जा सकता है ।

4- आसनों का अभ्यास करने से तुरंत पहले कुछ भी ना खाएं ।

5- आसनों के अभ्यास अपने शरीर की क्षमता के मुताबिक ही करें ।

6- किसी भी आसन का अभ्यास करते समय जल्दबाजी ना करें ।

7-  प्रत्येक आसन के अभ्यास में क्षमता अनुसार थोड़ा समय अवश्य रुकें ।

8-  प्रत्येक आसन के अभ्यास के बाद थोड़ा विश्राम अवश्य करें

Here, attention is focused on thoughts and breath. Being aware of breathing automatically controls the thought process and thus relaxes mind.

अष्टांग योग का वर्णन महर्षि पतंजलि द्वारा लिखित पुस्तक "योग सूत्र" में मिलता है। इसमें विभिन्न सूत्रों केे माध्यम से अष्टांग योग के आठ को अंगों को समझाया गया है जो इस प्रकार है :- (1) यम, (2) नियम, (3) आसन, (4) प्राणायाम, (5) प्रत्याहार, (6) धारणा, (7) ध्यान और (8) समाधि।

इन आठ अंगों का अभ्यास करके अपनी आत्मिक व आद्यात्मिक उन्नति के साथ साथ शारीरिक व मानसिक स्वास्थ्य को भी अच्छा किया जा सकता है तथा विभिन्न मानसिक व शारीरिक रोगों को भी दूर किया जा सकता है।

2. Do not resist at the time of stretching. And do not overstretch.
3. Always observe your breath, body and mind.
4. It's recommended to take a few seconds to break after each asana.
5. Shavasana is important. So, never skip it.
6. Like any other physical exercise form, yoga also should be started with a warm-up or sukshma vyayam.
7. Do not do the same types of yoga all the time. Different yoga postures target different muscles in the body.
8. Take some time to correct your posture. It might be boring for some people, but without proper alignment, you can damage your body.
