There is no dark side to meditation because meditation is an elevated state of mind. The practice that is done to bring the mind to the state of meditation is either the practice of pratyahara or the practice of Dharana. While practicing them, the mind has to go through some processes, due to which our suppressed sanskaras, memories, and deeds emerge on our psyche, which we are not aware of it. Its effect is visible on our body and mind. The stress, anxiety, vibrations in the body, and various types of visuals appear in form of different colors vision forms, etc., due to which we are unconscious and become afraid of delusions or hallucinations. When we attain the state of meditation, then all distractions of the mind are removed and the higher state of meditation takes us toward samadhi and helps us to move toward the eternal truth. read less
