It is absolutely necessary for a yoga student to get proper yoga or yoga meditation classes, proper alignment, breathing, time, place, environment and routine. Hence, one should make sure that he/she is joining a yoga class that is reputed and has received its certification.

yes! You should do modern yoga (diiferent asanas) under ther supervision of trainer but according to patanjal yoga sutra maharshi patanjali states that asana is a stable comfortable posture which do not need any class or supervision.
