The system was abolished in 1894 as part of the Gabo Reforms, but the concept of using examinations to select people for government and, later, other professions has persisted and evolved into modern educational and professional selection processes

Sensex stands for Stock Exchange Sensitive Index. It’s like a thermometer that tells us how healthy or sick the Indian stock market is feeling.
It shows the average performance of 30 big companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). These companies are leaders in different sectors like banking, IT, energy, FMCG, etc.
Why is Sensex important?
If Sensex goes up, it means most of these top companies are doing well → investors are confident → economy is growing.
If Sensex goes down, it means companies are struggling → investors are worried → economy might be slowing.
So, it reflects the mood of the market and helps people decide whether to invest, hold, or sell.
Example to understand Sensex:
Imagine that you’re tracking the performance of your top 30 students in a class. You create a scorecard that shows their average marks every week.If the average score increases, you know your class is doing well.
If it drops, you know something’s wrong—maybe exams were tough or students need help.
Sensex works the same way—but instead of students, it tracks companies like:
Reliance Industries, Infosys, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, Asian Paints
If these companies do well, Sensex rises. If they struggle, Sensex falls.

Strengthen your fundamentals Focus on the basics: Spend ample time on the foundational chapters, mastering terms, the double-entry system, and the Golden Rules of accounting. Don't move on until you are confident. Understand, don't memorize: Use real-life examples and analogies to grasp the "why" behind every rule and transaction. Accounting is about logic, not rote memorizatio

For many 11th-grade students, Accountancy becomes one of the most challenging subjects. The difficulties they face usually fall into three main areas. First, there are time constraints. While solving questions in exams, students often take too long to balance a single account or prepare a statement, which leaves little time for the rest of the paper. This happens mainly because of insufficient practice in a time-bound manner. Second, many students struggle with understanding the questions. Since Accounts is concept-based, a weak foundation in journal entries, ledgers, and trial balances makes it difficult to approach higher-level problems. Even when they try, confusion about formats and steps leads to mistakes. Third, there is the fear factor. The lengthy paper, combined with exam pressure, often makes students nervous. Even well-prepared students sometimes panic, forget basic rules, or make silly calculation errors. This fear further lowers their confidence in the subject.
