I come from a large family of musicians and singers and started my musical journey at a very young age. Being a primarily self-taught musician during those formative years, I joined various bands and played in venues across the country for over ten years. I eventually decided to pursue a musical education in singing, piano and the drums alongside minoring in a few other instruments. My passion for learning and performing soon grew into a deep fondness for teaching. I realised I enjoy learning, performing and producing music but I also love helping others discover the beauty behind musical complexity! Jon has a performance history of twelve-plus years and over eight years of experience teaching singing and the piano/keyboard.

I am a dedicated keyboard instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience, helping students build strong musical foundations and develop confidence in their playing. I hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree, which has strengthened my understanding of music theory and performance, allowing me to guide students with both technical accuracy and musical expression. Along with teaching, I have actively performed at multiple functions and music concerts. This stage experience plays a major role in the way I train my students. I understand the demands of live performance, rhythm control, and audience engagement, and I incorporate these real-world insights into my lessons to help students grow beyond basic learning. My teaching methodology is practical-based and well-structured. I focus on essential aspects such as finger techniques, scales, chords, rhythm patterns, and song practice. Each topic is introduced step by step, ensuring that students are comfortable before moving on to more advanced concepts. I strongly believe that music is best learned through hands-on practice. My classes include regular live demonstrations and guided practice sessions where students can immediately apply what they learn. My goal is to help students not only play the keyboard accurately but also develop a genuine love for music, strong performance skills, and the confidence to play independently or on stage.

I have over ten years of experience in Carnatic music. I am also a certified Kriti instructor, completing over a hundred Kritis throughout my musical journey. I have been learning Carnatic music for about fifteen years, and it has been an incredible journey. I have had the opportunity to perform on more than twenty-five stages in Chennai, which has helped me grow as a musician. One of my most memorable moments was receiving an award from Sri kunnakudi Vaidyanathan and Kadri Gopal for contributing to Carnatic music. As a part of learning, I completed the Masters in Veena . I have always been passionate about music and wanted to share my knowledge. Teaching Carnatic music has always been my dream, and I have been doing it for the past few years. I teach both online and offline classes and seeing my students grow as musicians have been a fulfilling experience. I teach both Veena and Vocal music in group and individual settings. My classes are open to anyone above the age of 6, and each session typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour. My teaching approach is practical-based, and I ensure that my students understand the nuances of Carnatic music. I teach them the importance of tuning, theory, and sitting posture with the Veena. I also prepare my students for exams, which helps them in their musical journey. Apart from teaching in person, I also provide video lessons and notes on the theory of music. This way, my students can continue learning even when not in class. I believe learning Carnatic music should be a continuous process, and I strive to provide my students with the necessary resources to help them in their musical journey.

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Management, which has helped me develop strong communication and organizational skills. These skills allow me to structure my lessons effectively and create a smooth and enjoyable learning experience for my students. Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with beginners as well as intermediate learners. I understand that every student has a different learning pace and interest level, so I tailor my teaching approach accordingly. My aim is to make learning comfortable and enjoyable while ensuring steady progress. My teaching methodology is practical and student-focused. I run a music school 'Hamsanaada ' at my residence in HSR Layout.Teaching started with the idea of learning new things along the way and its been 10 yrs. Learning about each raga, its Bhava and the emotion behind each song is the best way to sing any song. My teaching style involves explaining the basics of music, stressing upon the style of singing, explaining each raga in detail. Kritis are taught along with the meaning and the swara elaboration. Students whom I have trained have gone ahead to win places at national levels.. I give online classes along with classes at my residence.
