I also keep my interest in jazz and blues and have been composing in the genres repeatedly.

Despite this literary wealth, Kannada ghazals have remained relatively obscure, largely due to a lack of singers devoted to the form. Only a handful of artists—such as the pioneering Ravindra Handiganur and the iconic Ghazal Gundamma—have embraced ghazal singing in Kannada over the past eight decades. The voice that revives In recent years, one name has emerged as a passionate torchbearer for this art form: Anurag Gaddi. Based in Bangalore, Anurag is currently one of the most sought-after ghazal singers in India. His mission? To revive and popularise Kannada ghazals on a national and global scale. A versatile musician and composer, Anurag believes that literature and music must reach the common man through melody. With this belief, he has announced the ambitious "Kannada Ghazal Yatra - 100", a year-long, nation-wide concert series of 100 Kannada ghazal performances. Launched on 24 January 2025, the Yatra aims to bring Kannada ghazals to every corner of India—and eventually, the world. The idea is simple yet powerful: take music to the people. From intimate gatherings in the homes of celebrities to larger public performances, the Yatra will cover locations across Karnataka and beyond. I teach Hindustani Classical Vocal Music to students through UrbanPro, with a focus on helping learners develop their singing skills, vocal techniques, musical understanding, and confidence. I began my musical journey at the age of 11 and have been actively pursuing Hindustani Classical Vocal Music ever since. Music has been an important part of my life, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with students who are interested in developing their voice and understanding of classical music. My musical style is rooted in the Benaras and Kirana gharanas, and I have had the privilege of learning under the guidance of Dr. Barnali Datta Acharya. I have completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music, which have helped me build a strong academic and practical foundation in the subject. I have also completed Sangeet Visharad under the guidance of Shri Aniket Khandekar of Ahmedabad. I have completed Sangeet Ratna from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata, in 2018. During my M.A. examination in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music conducted by Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata, in 2020, I secured the 2nd position and received a Silver Medal. These academic accomplishments have been important milestones in my musical journey and have strengthened my commitment to continuously developing my knowledge and skills. Alongside my academic journey, I have gained valuable experience as a performer. I have performed extensively in Bangalore and Chennai since 2015, including at the Tattamangalam Sasthapreethi Festival. During my studies at NIT Surat, I was honoured with the title "Nightingale of Music" for my musical performances. At IISc Bangalore, I was also an active member of Rhythmica and performed as a lead vocalist in several stage productions. As a teacher, I enjoy helping students build a strong foundation in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music. I focus on developing voice culture, singing technique, musical expression, and an appreciation for classical music. I understand that every student may have a different level of experience and learning pace, so I believe in guiding learners patiently and helping them progress step by step. My teaching is focused on creating a comfortable environment where students can practise consistently and develop confidence in their voice.
