I am a Carnatic Music Flautist blessed to be a disciple of Padmashree Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. N Ramani since 1996. I am currently under the tutelage of Dr. Ramani’s disciple Ganakalashree L V Mukund. I have been performing since 2006 and have done more than 200 concerts alongside my full time corporate job. I hold a Master’s degree in Music from the University of Madras. I have been teaching since 2008 and have taught over 200 students so far. Several students have cleared the KSEEB's junior exam in music. I have been awarded the title ‘Venu Ganamrutha Mani’ by Chalappuram Pappa’s Karnataka Sangeetha Vidyalayam in 2010.

I offers Vocal, Flute, keyboard classes A detailed note is attached below regarding each one. 1) Vocal - singing classes. - HINDUSTANI, CARNATIC & LIGHT MUSIC Carnatic classical, Hindustani classical, Light music (bhavageethe),devaranaama classes, bhajans, Ghazals & Film music are offered. Any student choosing either carnatic or Hindustani classical music will be taught different lighter forms of music as well. In Hindustani classical music classes, students will be taught with the Harmonium. (basic playing techniques will be taught) Techniques to sing with tabla will be taught (in classical as well as lighter forms of music). In the advanced training sessions, the students wil be taught different voice culture and voice variations required to sing different forms of music- classical, light classical, semi classical, film music, western and so on. 2) Flute - Bansuri classes. Hindustani classical format of flute/bansuri playing will be taught. Vocal style (gayaki aang) and Instrumental style (tantrakaari aang) both the styles of playing will be taught. Techniques to play flute with tabla accompaniment will be taught. Performance oriented lessons will be offered at advanced training level. Different blowing techniques required to play in recordings, live shows are a few advanced aspects which would be covered. 3) Keyboard classes - Indian and/or western styles of playing can be opted on keyboard.

I have been fortunate enough to learn Bansuri from my admired Guruji for 13 years. In fact, I still continue to learn Hindustani classical Raags light music from him, as learning never ends. Having been a seasoned vocalist since childhood adds to my tips and tricks on Sur and Taal perfectly. I have been teaching for 12 years, and I understand the difficulties faced by most flute learners and ensure that I pass the learning tricks to my students with proper flute holding techniques, finger placements for different notes, and breathing exercises to control airflow and produce clear tones. Slowly they will be introduced to different Ragas (melodic frameworks) and learn to play compositions within those frameworks. I guide my students in developing proper embouchure, breath control, and finger movements to achieve a refined musical expression with a more personalized approach. While you can choose between online and in-person lessons depending on your preference and location, I would always suggest coming in person to my studio, so learning becomes more effective.
