How does meditation affect the perception of taste and smell?

According to me, what I have experienced that when we do meditation and as deep as we go and becomes more calm and composed. Then we started to be well concentrated about smell and taste. We get very clear and strong smell of food and all rest things.we have better taste and smell of foods.etc

But by far the biggest change sensory experience from meditation was the change in my sense of smell – everything smelled sweeter, and even the malodorous smelled putrid with a rawness that was still oddly alluring
