The difference between Muay Thai and kickboxing is as under:

1.Muay Thai is 8 points striking system focussed on not only on punches and kicks but focussed on knees/elbows/clinch whereas kickboxing is  4 points striking system that envolves kicks and punches.

2. Muay Thai incorporate an elements of grappling with clinch whereas Kickboxing does does not incorporate the grappling with clinch.

3. Muay Thai focussed on well timed high power striking whereas Kickboxing focuss  on boxing with heavy strikes with a lot of movements and high volume combination.‏

Both are very good for physical fitness.

Kickboxing is not listed in Olympic Games as people considred it as volient and aggressive game.Olympic committee never approve such game.There is also other fighting sports like boxing,karate and taekwondo and there is no need for more.

A lot of kickboxers have very adequate boxing skill, some even being former boxers themselves. However, their technique often pales in comparison to a pure boxer. Since boxers only have to work with hands, they spend much of their time learning how to throw a hard punch and put themselves in the perfect position to punch. Even their bladed stance assists in delivering the hardest punch possible. Kickboxers don’t get that luxury as they also have to train and defend against lower body attacks. This is why kickboxers stand more squared up than boxers, sacrificing punching power in exchange for better lower body defense. A bladed boxing stance is an invitation for leg kicks all match.

Boxing by far. In boxing you have to master only how to punch, and only how to defend against punches, to a very restricted target area. Start to introduce kicks, elbows and knees into your fighting style and a fuller target area and your training gets very complicated.
