However the latter not only improves Job Performance but also brings growth of the personality. Purpose of Training is to improve productivity and quality however development has a long term advantages and benefits. Training gives employees a wider awareness. On the other hand, the objective of Planning and Development is effective at the managerial level through a planned process of learning. read less

Yes, HR planing is done at all levels, from enterprise level (Strategic HR Planning) to SBU (Strategic Business Unit) and departmental level. Basically HR planing at every level is dovetailed to operational plans so that future manpower requirements to cater for increase, decrease, expansion, up gradation (technological or quantitative) competition and environmental issues as laid down or forecasted could be catered for. Once the HR plan is made and approved, the follow up action like fresh induction of manpower or up gradation of existing staff is undertaken in form of training and development activities etc. Therefore, training is essentially a follow up of HR planing. read less
