Namaste. I'm a Carnatic vocalist and tutor with over 13 years of experience in teaching and performing in India and USA. I've been trained by senior vocalists like Smt.Neeraja Chandrasekhar (Disciple of Sri. M.Balamuralikrishna), Smt. Akhila Siva (Mother and Guru of Sri. Vijay Siva) and Smt. Kalpathi Sudhasree Sridhar (Mother and Guru of Kalpathi Sisters). I've been a performing artiste in TTD, AIR and concerts in both India and USA. I teach students ages 6 years and over from beginner to Intermediate levels. My lesson plans include Varisais, Alankaras, Geetams, Nottuswarams, Varnams, Kritis according to each level. Additional focus would be on the Shruti alignment, Swarastanam, Talams and the Theory of Carnatic music. I also help in competition and exam preps. I teach both online and one-on-one and in private and semi-private sessions for more focused and steady learning. I am a mechanical engineering graduate from the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. I have provided Mathematics and Science tuition to a batch of 20 CBSE class X students during my college days, and all of them overcame their first hurdle of student`s life with good grades. All feel like students of the present generation in our country have a great mind, but they are bounded or narrowed with the pre-conceived thoughts that are passed to them not only by our families or relatives but also in this cyber era by internet and television. I have witnessed people accepting western culture as a fashion and forgetting our values and ethics. This all starts at that young age of 14-18 years when we do not understand the difference between right and wrong and mostly succumb to the negative side. By the time we reach 18+ we start accepting them as normal things and anything deviating from that zone makes us feel uncomfortable. We generally can`t take things that go beyond from that comfort mind. Now that`s the age when students need to be taught the difference between education and being literate. I learnt every youth wants to be unique, but the world around us is doing its best to make them just like everybody else. This everybody else is convenient but the "unique I" is a tough road. I feel like I have a responsibility towards making this world/country a prospered and educated one where the mind is without fear, and the head is held high.
