Overview

Sangeet Sadhana, has successfully completed five years as a premier and renowned Music and Art Institute located in Koramangala.
Sangeet Sadhana was established by Ms. Anindita Mukherjee with the objective of reviving, preserving, nurturing and promoting the rich Hindustani Classical Music tradition. She is the disciple of the veteran musician, and first lady of Raag Pradhan Vidhushi Late Mrs. Deepali Nag.
Sangeet Sadhana works for the promotion and propagation of Indian Classical Music and Art. Our notion of Sangeet is a holistic one , integrating Gayana ( Vocal Music ), vadana ( Instrumental Music ) and kala ( Art), thereby putting all under one umbrella ? Sangeet Sadhana .The efforts to preserve the contemporary Gharana music , extensive in its coverage and selective in its method practiced at Sangeet Sadhana are exemplary. The institute provides the following courses.
? Hindustani Classical Vocal Music ? beginners, intermediate and advanced level.
? Hindustani Instrumental Music ? Sarod, Sitar, Violin , Flute.
? Bollywood or light music
Students, who are aspiring for a career in music or are passionate about this form of classical music, can enroll in this school for course grade of their choice
The school follows the traditional Guru Shishya Param-para style of training, which tries to impart the true holistic knowledge of music transcending mere knowledge of techniques, styles or aesthetics of Ragas.

"I have been a part of this family since last one and half years and the journey has been amazing. I was learning music before as well, but this is the place where I fell in love with classical music. Discipline, Dedication, determination and devotion are the main pillars of our school and it has helped me not only in music but also to develop myself as a human being. If you want to experience the purest form of music then this is the place. All the teachers are equally talented and gunni people. They chose different ragas and semi classical (bhajan, thumri, ghajal etc.) compositions according to your level and will ensure that you get back to them with practice. School arranges tabla sessions in class to give us a feeling of live performance where collaboration with other accompanists is very much required. Music is mostly practical but gaining the theoretical knowledge is equally important and ma?am do focus on this part as well, we do have sessions to discuss about history of Indian classical music, different gharanas and their rendition styles. School conducts series of baithaks, concerts and workshops where we get opportunities perform, listen to our peers and other eminent professionals. Anindita ma?am is like a mother to me, equally strict and soft and Sangeet Sadhna is an extended family where I got friends with same interest. "

"Well I feel quite privileged for having had an opportunity to be a part of Sangeet Sadhana and learn the basics of classical from the most dedicated set of gurus I have ever come across. I moved to Bangalore in October last to last year, starting my job life. One fine day I thought of registering for classical music(for which I always had a desire to learn, but never got a chance to learn). Soon I got acquainted with Anandita ma'am, Ananya ma'am and Reet Sir, after joining the classes and learning from them was really a great experience. Also one special mention is that I made few superb friends too. Unfortunately I had to leave SS as I was moving to Mumbai, but the teachings are imbibed within me and soon I'll take up classes in Mumbai. It was a wonderful 1 1/4 yrs of musical journey which I had to pause with a grief in my heart. Cheers to the SS team. "

"It has been about 1.5 years in Sangeet Sadhana and it has been an amazing journey so far. I have a big smile when I am writing this about My Institute and I say it proudly! Here, focus is on making the basics and foundation very strong. It very rarely happens that I miss a class (inspite of Cold, fever, etc) and I keep looking forward to attend the classes. Here, tradition of Guru Shishya is followed. A strict discipline is maintained and stressed upon in terms of attendance to class, timings, Riyaz, payment of fees or whatever be it. Music has become an integral part of me and I have realized the importance of being sincere and dedicated to music. Baithaks are arranged, in which students are encouraged to perform on stage. It is an amazing experience to come together as students get together for various practice sessions, correct each other, teach each other and ofcourse have fun. Can?t thank this institute enough for imbibing the love for music in me. I was initially in the Beginners batch and was moved to Anandita Ma?am?s batch as I progressed. It is wonderful to see the change in me. Mam gives attention to the most minute details and does not let us settle down for anything less than perfection. Reet Sir and all other teachers of the institute, who don?t take classes just for the heck of it. Their passion towards what they do is something that can b only experienced and cannot be expressed in words. If you have passion towards classical, This is the place! Happy Learning. "

"Music is the shining path over which an individual travels to bring out the lively magical crystal architecture and cosmic energy to the world. Sangeet Sadnana is a beautiful journey with spectrum of emotions. As the name implies itself, the institute is a place of worshiping music which offers the opportunity to immerse in the infinity. This School has an architecture on the base of discipline, Focus, patience and perseverance of the respected Gurus, which are also expected from students to be a successful learner.Gurus give clear elaboration and improvisation and give importance to perceive the divine grace .Every individual is given prior importance to learn, practice, observe, listen, imitate, admire, debate, share, perform and excel in all their respective fields. There is an excellent atmosphere one aspires to expand the horizons in music. The sacred relationship between the "Guru shishya parampara" is beautifully maintained here with knowledge transmission to the next generation. As an old student of Vocal here, I strongly recommend this school for the people who are in search for the path of the beautiful journey of music. "Does the eating habits effect the singing voice? If Yes, what is the best food for a singer?" in   Performing Arts/Singing

It doesn't matter, few people are born talented and gifted. But yes for others a healthy diet is always recommended . Excessive of anything is bad. Avoid oily stuff, if you have to perform some where don't take child or cold items, avoid pickle, or juicy sweets. Don't drink too much of water before performance. Never go empty stomach also before performance. luke warm water is always good for your throat.

About us

I have been into the field of music since last 15-20 years (also appeared on Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma, in the year 1997). Apart from being a performer, I have often taught, conducted workshops for kids and adults. It is enjoyable to teach people who think music is for pure joy. Currently, I also sing as part of a 3-member band called 'Dwi' (www.soundofdwi.com). The basic teaching will focus on Raagas of Hindustani classical music. From time to time I also pick up a lot of light music, semi-classical, bhajan, folk, patriotic, raag based compositions to teach my students.
