At Sangeet Sadhana we create group based on competency, attitude and talent.Therefore it is targeted to all age groups ranging from 5 to 65Years. The whole ambience of our school ,the nature of its discipline or Sadhana, the instruments used to support our music, are all directed to one single end – the acquisition of swara, the core and substance of Indian Classical music. In Sangeet Sadhana Classes happens in 3 different levels Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. The teacher interacts with individual attention and infuses a liking towards real music in students.In Sangeet Sadhana we have Following courses

# The purpose of this class is to give swaragyan. Elementary lessons (Swaradhyaya) of shruti, swara, Sur and Tala( Talagyan), sargams, rules of raagas aroha avaroha, vadi- samvadis, the swar sangatis, pakad, and Paltas listening to thekas of Taal and keeping a mental note of tala while demonstrating. Concepts of saptak, Thaat paddhati or parent scales etc are taught. Particular emphasis is laid on reproducing music in notation. Theory and evolution of classical music are discussed in detail, like difference between allied ragas their catch notes etc. Proper Pronunciations and bol banana aspects will be given importance. The initial lessons are very attractive so that students don’t exhaust their patience


# Familiarity with Talams, alankarams.

# Introduction to geethams and also Swarajathis. Students get familiar with and are able to identify the basic ragams. Student should be able to sing all carnatic exercises with ease.The student will learn the lower sthayi varsai and two more swarajathis.

# The student will also be introduced to Lakshana geethams.

# Introduction to singing tanams. Understand the concepts of speed and tempo in Carnatic music. Attain flexibility in voice and perfection of notes. Introduction of a different scale or Raga. Familiarize the student with Kakali Nishadam.

# Introduction to voice culture technique. The vowel practice enables the student to gain control and help modulate their voices.


# Fingering Techniques of improving or modifying the quality of sound production in order to increase the aesthetic effects are emphasised. Some of these embellishments are kana or grace notes, kampan or tremor, krintan or pizzicato , zamzama, midh or portamento or glissandi, Ladi(quick tremolo strokes) are taught with fine detailing in order to appreciate the subtleties involved in playing Sitar. Similar ornaments also exist in the case of Sarod but involve slightly different techniques, since the latter does not have frets.

# Fingering techniques used in playing flute, understanding the texture of the notes and their tonal quality.

# Techniques to overcome the limitation by changing the scale through transposition or murchhana. This involves making another note Ma or Pa the tonic and thus changing the fingering pattern.

# How to vary the breadth which the key to changing the octaves, understanding the different blowing techniques to obtain the wide musical change, techniques of tonguing , tatkari etc.

# The jod and jhal are played by emphasising the rthythmic aspects by using a combination of tonguing and blowing techniques both.

# Understanding the theka which thus provides the standard for the improvisations( uthan, peshkar, kayada, Rela, gat, Tihai, Tukda/chakradhar). Sound production style which is the quality and the techniques used . rhythmic practices form the core of our teaching methodology here .

# We follow the traditional aalap-jod-jhala-gat sequence. Instrumental renditions either follow the tantrakari ang or the gayaki ang.

Sangeet Sadhana was established by Ms. Anindita Mukherjee with the objective of reviving, preserving, nurturing and promoting the rich Hindustani Classical Music tradition. Ms. Anindita Mukherjee, an All India Radio artist from the Agra Gharana, has over 28 Years of professional experience in music. She is the disciple of the veteran musician, and first lady of Raag Pradhan Vidhushi Late Mrs. Deepali Nag.
The school values the richness of Indian musical tradition and adheres to the underlying philosophy and spirit of the country’s rich heritage.

It was my best experience in sangeet sadhana. It is not only about music but it also formats our whole mind set with positive energy. Patience and discipline are the two major lessons which I experienced along with music here. Reet sir knows how those initial days were and at what pathetic emotional condition i was when i first came to this institute - my temple - i would rather christian it as such. My child Khyati was uncontrollable disturbed child. I almost gave up hope to continue with her singing class when Reet sir along with Anandita ma'am assured me that in few days everything will be fine. Just to have patience. And it did. Now my child loves to sing sa re ga ma and her rowdy behaviour have also changed. Thanks to Reet sir's magic and all the other gurus' support. Discipline and patience which is missing nowadays in todays' world can be learned here along with soothing Hindustani music. Even I am a non singer but Reet sir, Anandita maam and Swathi maam assured me that practice and more practice will make me perfect. Reet sir says "Music is the gift of nature. The seven swars Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni are there in the air. We just need to recognize it. Practice it and we can sing". This place is the place of motivation, meditation and mesmerizing music.

Sanger sadhana organised a musical evening with the school students. The parents and invitees were enthralled by the performances by the students, occasionally supported by the Guru. The event was very meticulously planned and innovatively introduced history of classical music and their stalwarts in playfully with the participation of talented students. The background narration and slide presentation helped decipher the complex tapestry of classical music. The children enlivened the event with cheering participation from parents. The performances by the different groups of grown ups, teenagers and elders, mesmerized the audience. I wish the Guru-shishya parampara, that the school endeavours to establish and follow, an astounding success. I wish that The Gurus' hard work and their unrelenting endeavour to inspire the students to work hard, all the success.
