It doesn't matter, few people are born talented and gifted. But yes for others a healthy diet is always recommended . Excessive of anything is bad. Avoid oily stuff, if you have to perform some where don't take child or cold items, avoid pickle, or juicy sweets. Don't drink too much of water before performance....

Never go empty stomach also before performance. luke warm water is always good for your throat. read less

Yes it affects those more who do no rehearse daily. Student who does riyaaz everyday,has very less impact of the food,but overall it's better to eat good nutritious and well cooked food at home. Hotelling and eating on roadside vendors is not advisable as the same oil is again and again used for the preparation of fast food. Fast food should be avoided as far as possible. Once in a while it is ok. Gargling daily in early morning with lukewarm water is very effective in clearing the throat before you start singing Also good happy positive thoughts also play a major role of the best food which is the raw material for calm,cool mind with happiness in it profoundly ! Take care of your vocal chord and talk softly as far as possible !. read less
