Guru Vidushi Dr. Sukanya Priya embarked on her illustrious dance journey at the tender age of 8 in Chennai under the tutelage of her esteemed guru, Vidushi Kalaimamani Chandra Dhandayuthapani Pillai, wife of Padmashree K N Dandayudhapani Pillai. Despite facing numerous challenges at home, her unwavering passion for dance drove her to complete her diploma in the art form. During her early years, she graced the stage at various government-organized cultural programs. In 1995, she had the distinct honour of performing at the World Tamil Conference in Tanjore, where she received recognition from the Tamil Nadu government. Driven by her dedication, she pursued higher education in dance, earning a postgraduate diploma from Tanjavur Tamil University and an MFA from Annamalai University.
