Prana means life force energy,infact the whole world is created just bcuz of prana,yama means rhythmic breathing......

Pranayam literally means to control one's life (To expand & control the life force - Prana). The breathing exercises in Pranayam (Controlled breathing), brings a lot of Oxygen to our body making the body function at its optimum & it also drives away the negativity.


Pranayam means control of pran or vital force. According to the sage Patanjali it means controlled breathing which includes deep inhaling, exhaling and retention of breath.

pran means "breath" and ayama means "exercise" shortly when one person does exercise of breathing he or she is doing pranayama.
