There are 84 lac asanas out of which lord Shiva taught us 84. Each of these has its own significance. However few are said to very beneficial. Simhagarjasana, siddhasana, padmasana, paschimottanasa. However, I personally like padahastasana, bhujangasana, sarpasana, veerabhadrasana, paschimottanasa, padmasana, vajrasana, anjaneyasana, halasana, sirshasana are good.

Yoga is a way to connect with the god, the creator of this universe. This is time taking and needs lifetime practice. Also varies from person to person. However, talking about what you can definitely achieve with yoga is stability of mind and body. The best part of yoga is you can stop your monkey mind finally to stop jumping here and there. That'd take time though. It needs dedication and commitment.
