Generally we help beginners to empower their confidence through teaching the method of close combat. Teaching them the philosophy of self-defense, anger management, stamina buildup, improvement of reflex system and panic control method.

Karate happens to be the basic and easily available choice. But if you opt for kick-boxing, it would be more helpful.

Apart from kicking do lots of stretches, strength training exercises. Second practice the kicks on different targets, such as focus pads, speed pads, heavy bags, and shadow kicking.
It was Bruce Lee who said i am not afraid of a person who knows ten thousand techniques, I am afraid of person who does one technique ten thousand times.

Stress is not only to older people but to everyone. The fact is that some people are good enough to ignore their problems and live. And the old aged person is not able to ignore. The way to ignore the situation for old aged person is by doing something that makes them relax and healthy. not like children they play and get the exam monster out of their heads. but older people can go for a walk meditate for some time do some chores that make them feel good and most importantly go out in some areas where they can find other aged persons as their company.!! definately it would help them in getting rid of stress to some extent «less

Meditation is a process to realize inner consiousness .
One of the most common things I hear people say when I talk to them about how to meditate is this:

- "Oh I can’t do meditation.. I've tried but
I just can’t stop my mind from thinking".

I can certainly understand why so many people feel this way. Most of us have a lot on our minds these days, so it can be very difficult to slow down and stop all our thoughts from taking place.

But it might surprise you to know that stopping your mind from thinking is not something you have to worry too much about when you meditate.

"What?!" I hear you say. Does this all sound a bit like the opposite of what you've been led to believe? Probably! Well please read on so that I can clarify one of the great misconceptions about meditation for you.

Your Mind is Like a River
Trying to stop your mind from thinking is like trying to stop a river from flowing with your bare hands...it's exhausting and almost impossible to accomplish!

When you learn how to meditate, you learn to step out of the river, and let your thoughts flow past you effortlessly. When you learn to do this, you will find that your river of thoughts slows down all by itself. No effort is required.

Meditation is an act of letting go - not an act of shutting down.

I realize that this might all sound just a little bit abstract to start with, but the idea will become clearer. Trust me when I say that learning how to meditate is probably a lot easier than you might think. Sure, if you have never meditated before then it will take a little practice to get into the swing of things, but even if you are a complete beginner, your first experience with meditation can be quite easy, and very enjoyable!

The most important thing to know at this early stage is that meditation is NOT something that you can measure in terms of success or failure. Meditation is a process, a journey. Many people mistakenly think that they are failing at meditation because thoughts arise in their mind when they try it.

But thoughts are a totally natural phenomenon, and it's folly to think that you can completely shut them all off in an instant! «less

Dear friends, it is true that each yoga practitioner would come from his/her experience and your responses are extremely good.. The eight limbs of yoga-sutra provide the essential structure and the milestones that are generic. While one may exercise choices on the individual routes the structure and the milestones are non-negotiable.

Asanas are intended to stabilize physical, emotional and intellectual bodies to facilitate the spiritual progress; Pranayama rejuvenates our own fountainheads of energy so that the inner states of pratyahar & beyond could be sustained. Yama-niyama provide the firewalls to protect the pranayama from internal and external obstacles. Perfecting yama-niyama is almost a continuously improved process without any end but serving a need for the time being at a level of the asana & pranayama.

Attaining pratyahar is a break through point that opens the inner doors.First we reach a state of dharana, where we put a lot of efforts to herd inside the straying attention. When the efforts are not needed it becomes dhyana and when the awareness of all this is also lost, a samadhi. These three stages all at once is sanyama. Thus, the first four are to be practiced together until pratyahar and the later three are consecutive states to be achieved along the advanced pranayama.

The importance of practice and devotion can never be emphasized enough. In my view, the perfection in yama-niyama is usually a gift from the inner guru, the soul. «less
