Taekwondo is known for its emphasis on kicks, agility, and speed, while kickboxing incorporates a combination of punches and kicks. The choice between the two depends on individual preferences, fitness goals, and personal interests. Some people may prefer the traditional and disciplined aspect of taekwondo, while others may be drawn to the high-intensity, full-body workout of kickboxing. It's important to try both and see which one resonates best with youkickboxing is more fluid, a proper trained kickboxer will have a tight gaurd just as a traditional boxer will, and i can assure you it is hard work to try to hit a well trained boxer in the head or midsection via a punch, your best bet is to take out and destroy their legs, so to back that up a well trained kickboxer can also block very effectively with their legs if a kick was thrown at their legs, and a kickboxer should be moving very fluid while all this is going on,kickboxing encorporates a better defence than TKD weather you are about to be punched or kicked, its pure logic, a defence covering more of your body with be more effective than a very open and wide gaurd, i am not being biased believe me i have seen it all too many times to mention. now both a good kickboxer and TKD practioner would or should adapt their focus if they are outnumbered in a fight. read less
