Cuban style salsa Also known as "Casino" or "Rueda de Casino", this style originated in Cuba and is characterized by circular movements, intricate footwork, and a lively spirit. Salsa Rueda A group style of salsa where couples dance in a circle, led by a caller who signals moves for the entire group to perform simultaneously. Puerto Rican style salsa Also known as "Salsa Porto", this style is influenced by other dances in the United States. Salsa dancing can also be categorized as either linear or circular. In linear salsa, dancers stay in a line, while in circular salsa, dancers circle around each other.
