Hi Shivani, I think you will become confused by the comments from all, because all the professional who teach whatever dance form they will suggest you that dance form only, but I am suggesting you if you don't have any knowledge also just see in the youtube different types of dance forms and whichever you like you can join. It may be Kathak or Bharatnatyam or Bollywood or Hip hop or Contemporary. If you need more help you can take demo classes from my institution either online or directly in my institution to get hands on knowledge and then choose your own dance form which motivate you. read less

Hey Shivani , According to me you should take up bollywood as it is a dance form which will make your body a little flexible and you will able to sync with the rhythm. Try starting with watching some videos and pick up your favourite dance numbers which will increase your interest. ??

When you say you want to follow, do you mean while dancing or do you want to follow the dance form itself by attending recitals etc? If you want to follow the dance form itself, then pick what is local to you as that is likely to have more shows and recitals in your area. Ofcourse other Indian dance forms will be showcases in your area also, but likely to be less frequent. What I understand is that once you pick up one dance form, taking up another at a later date is not a difficult choice. So pick what you feel comfortable. If you want to follow while dancing (with a partner), then Western dance would be your choice. If this is what you meant, let me know and i will share more details, as I have learnt a few western dances. read less
