Started learning the art of Tabla at a tender age under the guidance of Vid.Bhaskar Hegde in his native Sagar,Shimoga.Then continued his training under his Guru Pt.Madivalayya Sali of Banaras Gharana. Right now he is learning under the guidance of his Guru, Pt. Udayraj Karpoor, an eminent artist in today's date. A post graduate in music from Karnatak University,Shouri has been an awardee of a Gold medal in his Bachelors degree for Tabla.He has received the prestigious "Ministry of culture's" scholarship given for young artists. I am on the panel of musicians formed by Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy (govt. body) and also Dept. of Kannada & Culture, govt. of karnataka for selection of musicians for various honours and scholarships to aspiring musicians. Ravi has been part of many international music festivals including WOMAD in UK, Tff Rudolstadt , Womadelaide , Verbier , Paleo , Roskilde , Sfinks , Rainforest music fest in Malaysia and the San Francisco Jazz Festival, among others for his Solo, duet and numerous collaborations ranging from Indian Classical musicians , Jazz, Celtic musicians to huge Rock bands like Jethro Tull. In 2016, Ravi joined A R Rahman for his popular Mtv unplugged session rendering his magic for some breathtaking tracks. These episodes were viewed by millions of music lovers across the globe.
