The teacher (Latha) is extremely committed and i love the way she provides a hundred small tips to improve your practice. Any age is fine as long as you don't force your body into poses, that may cause injury. Since children may not be able to recognise injury, older the age better and must be taught under an experienced teacher.

Patience dad. ?Be consistent with your instructions then if he doesn't do what you are asking him to do , you do it for him as if he is doing it. Seeing your calmness and consistency, kid will be surprised and will gradually learn to behave in the way you want. Be firm, without losing your head. All... ...more

Yoga can be practised as long as you feel healthy and you are not full stomached. Keep the practice at same time and if possible at same place, that makes the brain accept a new routine of yoga easily.

Yoga/meditation weakens the mental modifications or chitta vritti of the mind there by your body and mind are indirectly disciplined and healed, consequentially you have all many benefits including concentration.
