I have been playing drums for over 10 years and I am very active on the music circuit in India, both on stage and in the studio. I have trained at the prestigious Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (S.A.M, Tamil Nadu), under globally renowned drummers from Berklee College of Music such as Jovol Bam Bam Bell (Screaming Headless Torsos) and Karina Colis (Grammy award winning Latin drummer). My approach to teaching is not to just teach students a few songs and some cool drum grooves, but is more focused on enabling them to use the drumset as a vehicle for developing the artist within them in an organic way, so that they are able to express their personalities through music. My curriculum will cover all aspects of drumming, including but not limited to technique, multiple styles like Rock, Jazz, Latin, Afro-Cuban, Funk, Reggae, Carnatic Percussion applications etc., tuning, sight reading and notation (music theory) as applied to the Western Drumset. These are not just drum classes. They are opportunities to for self-exploration.
