I have taken up Carnatic classes as a child and trained under Smt. Padmavathy Anathagopalan, Veenai specialist worldwide, who lives in Chennai. For 10 years I learnt all the stages of music from my teacher. I continued more studies under a Teacher at Coimbatore when we moved. From then on, I continued listening to songs and singing more and practicing at my own times. I am wiling to teach all those who are wiling to learn. I believe in having a strong basics, hence if we cant learn something we will always move back to the basics of that portion.

I have around 28 years of experience in teaching music. I have been part of prestigious institutions like Pallikoodam in Kerala and Christel House India in Bangalore, a school for underprivileged children. Both these schools had Indian Music as a subject and I was responsible for teaching music right from Nursery to Class 12. My additional responsibilities included forming a choir, both junior and senior and making them perform for regular assemblies and special assemblies. I have taught my students songs in various languages like Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Sanskrit, Bengali and Kannada. I have taught Veena, the instrument for 15 students at the same time in a group. I was also responsible for associating with the drama team when they put up dance and music dramas. Post the pandemic, I have been actively taking online classes in music for various age groups.

I am a Mtech graduate. I have been learning carnatic music since my childhood and now being taught Sopana Sangeetham which is a temple art form by Eloor Biju. I have been an active participant in various competitions throughout my school and college days and I have got the opportunity to sing in various concerts in temples.

Both my gurus being my mother and aunt have trained me in depth in carnatic classical music. I have completed my senior in the same and even on the path to profeciency. I teach carnatic vocal music, Bhajan, devaranamas and shloka.

I am a professional classical Hindustani singer with a learning experience of 15 years and 2 years of teaching experience. I have given many concerts and programs and also taught many students in school and college. I have also been teaching in a music academy for one year.

Teaching started with the idea of learning new things along the journey. And it's been 15 years now. Analysing the strengths and weakness of each learner and training them accordingly is something I love doing. I remember my teachers saying, a good teacher is the one who holds the hands of the weakest and pulls them up. Contrary to the belief that music is only in genes, I have witnessed students coming from absolute lack of music in family doing good, despite initial struggles. Though not all become great singers, they start appreciating good music. And what can be more beautiful than carnatic music. Indian classical music is an invaluable gift to mankind. Its highly satisfying to witness students identify ragas, share their experiences of a kutcheri, enjoy carnatic music as much as western and get ranks in exams. Music has also worked as a medicine to a lot of elderly students, to over come depression, over come mid age crisis, when pressures.. School going kids have witnessed better concentration, over come dyslexia, have over all development. Along with learning music, I also try to my students a better samaritan. Every year we do a fund raising show. Till now we gave raised funds to help a child fight, save water, rejuvenate lakes etc. Along with teaching students in India, I also teach students from other countries with students from all coasts of US, NZ, Australia, Dubai and parts of Europe.
