Swaras are the fundamental musical notes: Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni. Tala: Tala refers to the rhythmic pattern or cycle in Hindustani music. Riyaz includes practicing various talas to develop a strong sense of rhythm. Alankar: Alankars are musical ornaments or patterns used for vocal and instrumental embellishments. Practicing alankars helps improve flexibility and control over the notes. Raga: Riyaz involves exploring and mastering different ragas (melodic modes) in Hindustani music. Each raga has its own set of rules regarding ascending and descending notes. Improvisation: Hindustani music encourages improvisation within the framework of a raga and tala.
