Be patient with the kid. He may be interested in cartoons, superheroes and other characters, making him teach the values through it. Make deals with him; if he does it, he will get it.

He is just 6 yr, old kid. If kids don't find something interesting enough, they don't sit and listen to it with patience. So, it would help if you made things and learn fun and interesting for him.

Dear Sir!
As child psychology says, making a one-year-old baby learn is not a very good decision. I see the children falling in this age group learn a lot by copying others. So it's my suggestion to you that you please make him understand the new things with some exciting activities, these activities to be game-like for him. Therefore, I can feel comfortable with them.

I assume you know Python 3, so I'll answer using that, similar can be done in other languages.
1) #suppose you want to switch values of a and b
temp = a #we create a temp variable which will store the value of a
a = b; b = temp
#Now, if we hadn't created temp variable then b would take the value of a but mind that a has a value of b, so b will take the value of a which is not what you want.
2) There is another way and that is using tuples it's most easy you
don't need to make any 3rd variable. it's simply:
a,b = b, a #you can add parenthesis if you want. that's it you've swapped the values.

The first and foremost thing I suggest is reading. Engage the child into more and more reading. Gradually he/she would grasp new words and their usage. Talk to her/him about what he/she read. Ask questions and show curiosity about what he/she is going to tell you about the new thing read. Do not forget to appreciate the child for further learning, however little it is. It would act as positive reinforcement and will help in creating interest. Help the child in making a good choice in reading. Pick the reading material related to anything of the child's interest. It can be cartoons, animals, video games or toys. Make sure you indulge the child in using the new words learnt in everyday vocabulary. Even while speaking in a different language, the child must remember and use the words or phrases learnt. Gradually the child would get used to it and learn the language.

The only way to learn a language is to start using it in everyday conversation.

  • Make book reading a daily habit.
  • Ask him to write ten new words every day with their meaning and make him learn that.
  • Lastly, continually support and motivate your child even in small achievements. Make learning fun for him.
