Start with a friendly conversation. Ask the child their name, favourite colour, favourite toy, or ask them to show something lying nearby. This helps the teacher understand the child's confidence, vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication skills while making the child feel relaxed.

Once the child is comfortable, sing a simple rhyme together or use a play-way activity with pictures, toys, or flashcards. Instead of making the session feel like a formal class, make it feel like an enjoyable interaction.

Young children learn best when they are happy, engaged, and emotionally connected with their teacher. A strong bond built in the first few classes often becomes the foundation for effective learning throughout the journey.
