Let me explain how the UGC NET cut-off is decided: 1. _Total number of candidates_: The total number of candidates who appeared for the exam. 2. _Total number of seats_: The total number of seats available for the award of JRF and Assistant Professor. 3. _Category-wise reservation_: Seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates as per government norms. 4. _Subject-wise distribution_: Seats are distributed across various subjects based on the number of candidates and vacancies. 5. _Normalization process_: To ensure fairness, the normalization process is applied to adjust scores across sessions and subjects. 6. _Cut-off calculation_: The cut-off is calculated based on the following formula: Cut-off = (Number of seats / Total number of candidates) x 100 1. _Category-wise cut-off_: Separate cut-offs are calculated for each category (General, SC, ST, OBC, and PwD). 2. _Subject-wise cut-off_: Cut-offs are also calculated for each subject. 3. _Rounding off_: Cut-offs are rounded off to two decimal places. 4. _Final cut-off_: The final cut-off is declared, and candidates who score above it are considered qualified. The National Testing Agency (NTA) follows this process to ensure transparency and fairness in determining the UGC NET cut-off. read less

UGC NET cut-off is decided based on factors like the number of candidates, difficulty level of the exam, total vacancies, and the performance of all test-takers. It's set as a percentage of the total marks.
