I can summarise it to by one example..yoga includes breath work which is directly connected to your nervous system which controls your body&mind hence it balances your whole body & mind.

Each yoga poses last to 5 to 6 minutes which includes the practice of starting position ,maintain of pose and slow down position.It depend upon repetition of each pose.
