NrityaShastra is an Odissi dance academy started by Bulbuli Mukherjee. Your tryst with Odissi will begin here. Odissi is one of the eight classical dance forms in India. NrityaShastra also offers fitness classes which is a combination of Yoga and Aerobics. It originates from the state of Odisha, in eastern India. It is the oldest surviving dance form of India on the basis of archaeological evidences. Bulbuli Mukherjee's penchant for Odissi dance was recognized at an early age of 7. Under the tutelage of Sabita Mishra, a disciple of Padmashree recipient Late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, she underwent intensive training in one of the oldest classical dance forms in India. With the blessings of Lord Jagannath, her Guru and well wishers, she continued her passion over 20 years. She was awarded a Gold Medal in National Level Degree Examination of Odissi dance conducted by Prayag Sangit Samiti. Over the decades, she has performed at multiple events spanning the country.
