Books will be as reference. It would be better if you learn under the instructions of the teacher personally.

Actually NO , because yoga mainly depends upon our breath . when to inhale & when to exhale . secondly if you are doing wrong posture then also you need help ,which a book or an online instructor can't help you in , So you need a yoga instructor to teach you properly with the benfits for each posture...
