As the capacitor charges or discharges, a current flows through it which is restricted by the internal resistance of the capacitor. This internal resistance is commonly known as Capacitive Reactance. it is inversely proportional to the angular frequency and the capacitance and is due to the presence of capacitance in an alternating-current circuit. its S.I. unit is in Ohms. read less
