It is not easy to get band 9 in IELTS reading but it is possible. For that you will have to become an effective reader. Practising and solving IELTS test papers are not enough. Read different kinds of books and articles. Increase your vocabulary and understand the content. Once you become proficient, that stage will come when you don’t have to think about every word as you read. When you solve the test papers, analyze your mistakes and correct them. If you follow my given advice, I am sure you can get band 9 in IELTS reading. read less

Writing and Speaking is another category where feedback can be provided only by the others. For example, if you listen or read, you would better know if you read or listened properly. So concentrating only on the reading part, here are the following mantras to achieve a 9 band: 1. Plan on what you are going to read. Newspapers are a better choice than novels. 2. Start reading slowly. Don't jump the gun. Try to be in present and pay attention to each word and comprehend it properly. 3. You would get 3 passages with approximately 40 questions so read carefully in such a way that there is no looking back. Time is a key here. 4. Practice as much as you can before hand. Go through sample test papers. There should be no surprises when you are in exam. People who get surprised during tests, score <7 Hope I answered your question. Regards, Mayank read less

What is the best way to use my 60 minutes time in academic writing test of IELTS?
Academic writing has two sections. Task 1 and Task 2. For Task 1 you have to write min 150 words and for task 2, min of 250 words. Divide your 60 minutes time accordingly. I suggest, you give 20 minutes for ask 1 and 40 minutes for task 2.
