IELTS Result

Once you have cleared the IELTS test and suspected that the scores do not match up to your expectation then here are the ways you can apply for the retest procedure.

• The IELTS score is sent after 13 days of taking the exam, implying 13 days later to the main test day you can obtain the IELTS result after specified.
• To get your IELTS score online, you will be required to fill out the right identification document number, candidate number, test date and date of birth.

• In some cases, the IELTS result may come much later than the stipulated time of 13 days. In that case, E-mails are sent to the IELTS applicants mentioning the cause of delay and when they can receive their scores.

• To get your IELTS Test Report Form (TRF), you have to wait 14 days from the initial test day. You will receive updates about when you might receive the TRF via SMS.
• Based on the update, TRF with detailed scores and markings of IELTS exam will be delivered at your registered address through speed post or courier facility.
• Students who are required to send their TRF to other institutes can apply for five copies of the original TRF. Also, if mentioned in advance the IELTS British Council sends the TRF to institutes, suggested by the examiner on the day of IELTS test.
• Institutes do not accept TRF older than two years from the date of appearing in IELTS test and Institutes do not accept photocopies of TRF.
• To send an institutional copy of TRF, applicants have to pay an administration fee of Rs. 250 (approx). In case of colleges abroad, the charge is Rs. 1250, to be sent via courier.
• For the IELTS Council to send scores to institutes, applicants need to fill the ‘Application form for Additional Test Result Form’ and also mention the institute address on the day of IELTS test.
• IELTS also provides IELTS TRF Verification service. Institutes can cross-check students score with the TRF number found on the bottom right-hand corner of TRF form.

Scrutiny of IELTS Test Score

The IELTS council has a good record for unbiased marking system.

However, if an IELTS candidate is confident that there is a mistake in marking, they can get their scores re-evaluated within 6-weeks from the initial test day. Only particular sections can be selected for re-marking.

• The scrutiny process may take up to ten weeks after which the next TRF is issued to your address.
• The fee for IELTS remarking service is Rs.6500. If the score of a student alters, then the IELTS council refunds this total amount.
• The old TRF needs to be sent back to IELTS council by the student through courier service.
• On applying for scrutiny of IELTS score, candidates cannot apply for colleges and immigration until the new TRF is issued.

Retest of IELTS Exam

One can take up the IELTS retest exam as many times as they wish. Previously a 90-day break from the initial test day was mandatory, but this rule has been altered now one can take up the IELTS retest anytime.
