One of the best ways to develop fluency for English learners is to master the irregular verb forms by heart because we observe most of our language learners are dumb unable to speak further and we observe they lack simple vocabulary and their usage. Learning simple vocabulary is important and using it adequately is more important for a learner.
More often learners stuck up unable to identify precise words when they speak about culture, beliefs and tradition, there are simple English words like idol, deity, worship, penance etc, that they aren’t aware of. Moreover, unlike any other languages in the world English has amazing flexibility to acquire a word from any language to use it in the way you use it when you speak in your mother tongue.
English is grown out of words from world languages like Latin, Greek, French, and German, and it has acquired words from many other languages. Some dictionaries even depict the root word from which language it is derived. Words like idly, chutney, soup, catamaran (kattumaram) have become English words now.
Hence, we don’t need to get stuck stumbling not knowing the appropriate word when you speak, you could better use the same word in your language as it is, using words from other language doesn’t hinder or obstruct the fluency of the language. Indeed, one could use the same phrase without changing the syntax of English.
Most of the learners prefer dictionaries with meanings in their mother tongue but it is ideal to use English to English dictionaries. English to English dictionaries help learners to expand their horizon learning new words and meanings. They can enrich their word power by using “Thesaurus” a book of collection of synonyms and antonyms. Regular use of “Thesaurus” would ensure a significant growth in a person’s verbal efficacy.
Learners’ task doesn’t stop by knowing a word from a book instead it is imminent to understand the usage of the word and to make it verbal, one has to practice hard pronouncing it loud several times a day so that could help developing the fluency of the language.
