The band requirement differ from university to univeristy. Please check the accepted score for the universities for which you are applying.

It depends upon the University, which you are going to apply in. Maximum Universities in english speaking countries need minimum Band 6.5 or 7.

New Zealand is a country that accepts a band of 5.5. There should be a few more countries that would accept that score but if you’re trying to get into good universities it’s best you retake your IELTS exam and try to get a better score.
