I have been learning Veena from her for almost 8 months. I found her on UrbanPro. She teaches on Skype. I am comfortable learning under her as it is easy to communicate with her and ask doubts. She is very patient to the learning needs of her students. She knows how to teach the nuances of Veena like gamakam and sliding through simple exercises. She doesn't rush through the classes and regularly revises earlier lessons. Gradually she introduces new concepts like 2nd & 3rd speed, talam, etc. She is very enthusiastic to teach other devotional or film songs and writes notations for them. She is preparing us for Sangeetha Visaradha Exam conducted by Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. I had learnt vocal (carnatic and light music) about 15 years ago from 3 teachers. I believe that being a good player and good coach are different things. I took trial class from other teachers also and what made me choose her was flair for teaching. She comes from a family of musicians. She has learnt music very rigorously and has a BA degree in music. This becomes evident in her teaching. From my previous experience also, I rate her very highly for a veena beginner.
