I had 6 to 8 years of teaching experience in Kuchipudi dance
As a skilled and certified Kuchipudi dance teacher with over 20 years of experience, I have developed a deep understanding of this classical dance form and its intricate techniques. I hold a Master's degree in Performing Arts from the prestigious Potti Sriramulu Telugu University in Hyderabad, where I further refined my skills and knowledge. My training, along with years of performing and teaching experience, has enabled me to impart the beauty and depth of Kuchipudi to students of all ages and skill levels. Teaching Approach: My teaching style is rooted in a blend of traditional techniques and modern pedagogical methods, ensuring that each student receives a holistic learning experience. I focus on both the technical and expressive aspects of Kuchipudi, which include: Abhinaya (Expression): A significant component of Kuchipudi, where I guide my students in conveying stories and emotions through facial expressions and hand gestures. Students learn to interpret and portray various mythological and spiritual themes, developing a deeper connection to the dance. Nritta (Pure Dance): I emphasize the importance of footwork, body posture, and hand movements. The precision and speed of the dance are taught gradually, ensuring students master the complex rhythms and graceful fluidity of Kuchipudi. Nritya (Dance with Expression): This is a fusion of Nritta and Abhinaya, where storytelling through dance becomes the central focus. I help students embody the characters they portray, ensuring their performance is not only technically accurate but also emotionally compelling. Choreography & Performance Skills: I encourage creativity in choreography while staying true to the classical elements of Kuchipudi. Students also participate in live performances, which helps them gain confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the art form. Rhythms & Tala: A deep focus is placed on learning the rhythms (Tala) that form the backbone of the dance. Students practice intricate rhythmic patterns, which are essential for mastering the art of Kuchipudi.
