How I see myself as a tutor have a passion for teaching and mentoring young minds. I enjoy my lessons. I keep my students engaged during the session. Lesson plans: Every student is different in personality, in their liking , learning speed, and interest level. The approach to a particular student is individualistic, not a general delivery. It is very important to have a strong student-tutor connect for good tutoring. 1. At the very beginning of the lesson/topic, I provide subtopic level break up and proceed in sequence. 2. In a typical 1-hr lesson, I usually spend 30-35 minutes to explain the key concept and the rest of 20 minutes I discuss questions based on application of concept. 3. Concepts are discussed to the point and just what they need to solve questions related to the topic. 4. What sets me apart from other tutors: 1. student - tutor engagement 2. To the point of tutoring, explaining key concepts with a set of Questions that clears the concept. 3. Providing constant support, limited number but carefully selected Homework question and feedback to overcome the area of development. How to help students who are right now in low grades: I have pulled my students from C and C- to B+'s and A's. This doesn't happen in a day. It needs persistence, clearly explaining concepts, engaging the student, helping them to solve problems first with little help and then independently.
