Disc brakes use a caliper to squeeze pads against a rotor, creating friction to stop. Drum brakes press shoes against a drum's inner surface. Disc brakes are more efficient, cooler, and less prone to fading than drum brakes.

Drum brakes are more durable due to their greater friction contact area. The most important benefit of the disc-braking system is its open-air design. As a result, it does not overheat, which reduces the possibility of fading (losing effectiveness due to heat).

Do I need to purchase drums .. ?
Preliminary you can practice with online drums application available in Playstore, but it's obviously better if you buy it at least second hand for better learning. ð??? hope you like my answer.
