Amplitude is the positive or negative peak value of a wave while frequency is the number of oscillations complete in 1 second.

amplitude is the maximum +ve or -ve dispacement of a wave while frequency is the no of oscillations made y the wave in 1 sec. amplitude governs the loudness while frequency governs the pitch or shrillness of a sound .

Amplitude is the positive and negative peak of the signal while frequency is the no of repetition of the signal in a unit time. We increase the amplitude of our voice signal by shouting loudly while we increase the frequency of our voice signal by speaking faster.

Let me describe the concept in literary way, so that you can remember. you must heard the two words "amplification or amplifier" and "frequent" in general talks,right. generally Amplification is used in terms of gaining something , in terms of sound it is used for gaining loudness. similarly frequency comes from word frequent..............frequency means how frequent some thing is happening. but when you are asked how frequent for any thing, your answer will be associated with some time as well. for example : how frequent do you go to sunil? you answer:may be once in a week, that's it. so here your frequency is once per week or 1/week. generally when frequency is asked with respect to ossilating body or waves, the expected answer is how many times a second, as sec is the SI unit of time. so standard definition of frequency is number many oscilation per second. and Amplitude is the max displacement from the mean or stable position of the oscilating body. want to explain little more.........but had to stop for the time being for some urgent work. read less

The difference between frequency and amplitude is that: frequency is a measurement of cycles per second, and amplitude is a measurement of how large a wave is. Amplitude represents the wave's energy.

Seen a pendulum? Where is its bottom when it is at rest? At the center, right? Now give it a little push and let it keep swinging to and fro, and observe it. See how far "the bottom" is going before returning? That "how far" is the Amplitude. Now, take a stopwatch or normal watch, and count the "number...

See how far "the bottom" is going before returning? That "how far" is the Amplitude. Now, take a stopwatch or normal watch, and count the "number of swings" the pendulumis making in one minute. Let's say the count is coming to be 100. Divide100 by 60 (because 1 minute = 60 seconds). The quotient you'll get is frequency. So, you see the difference? read less

What should be the fees for class XI and xii physics per class in Bhubaneswar?

According to me, the best fee will be the changed study pattern of the students from rote to conceptual and being able for themselves to choose what they actually want to do after 12th ( not necessarily engineering or MBBS). Thanks.

An elevator weighs 3000kg. What is its acceleration when the in the tension supporting cable is 33000N. Given that g = 9.8m/s2.
M = 3000 kg g = 9.8 m/s² T = 33000 a = ? Ma = Mg - T 3000 * a = 3000 * 9.8 - 33000 3000a = 29400 - 33000 3000a = - 3600 a = - 1.2 m/s².

Why does a swimmer push the water backwards?
According to newton's 3rd law of motion in each and every action there is an equal and opposite force. So if he push the water backwards then according to the above principle or law he will be able to move forward.
