6 Healthy Habits of School Children

Before sending children to school, parents hardly take the effort to well educate their children. Parents expect school to do everything and make the children become scholar. Though schools have significant roles to play in a child’s life but certain developments and habits grow in a child, from parents end only. These can be practiced at home from an early age of the child to ensure that they learn to follow these, when in school.

Here is suggesting six healthy habits that parents should encourage among children before they make way to school. With these abilities, school time will become fun learning and joyful for the kids.

Maintain punctuality and attendance

Punctuality and attendance, both are taught by parents. In your everyday activities, try to show your child the importance of time, so that they carry the same habit to school. For example, there is a doctor’s appointment and you should encourage your child to reach in time. Also, parents should not take break from work and expect children to go to school. When children see parents active in their own professional world, they try to maintain the same in school.

Be early riser

Once a child is at home, parents should try and become early risers. This will develop early rising ability in the child. Early rising not only helps to reach school in time but also enables to maintain a healthy physique. However, to become early riser in the morning, children should be made to sleep early at night, so that their sleep is complete by the time they wake up.

Respect parents and elders

Respecting others can only be taught to a child, by the parents or family. Also, within the house, elders should ensure respecting each other, from which children will learn. The respecting attitude is required throughout life, beyond school. A child should start from respecting parents, elders at home carry forward to teachers in school, professors in college and of course, colleagues in work. The idea of respecting others is very important and should be taught at an early stage.

Develop sharing habits

Considering the trend of nuclear families, the scope to share food, bed, books, toys or clothes with other children is reducing. However, with friends, cousins or even with, parents should encourage their children to share belongings. Sharing is important when your child walks into school with several other children of same age. The quality to share can alone be developed at home and is not a subject you can expect in school.

Be active in school premise

Do not let your child grow into an introvert. All children are active at home. However, when it comes to doing the same in public or at school, the same child might become shy or calm. Help your child to get out of their own shell and communicate with the outside world. This will help your child to participate in school affairs and perform better as students.

Develop decision-making ability

Children have to be dependent on parents. Yet, let your child take their own decision. The outcome may be pathetic, but you are there to help. It is only one wrong decision now, that can let your child take right decision tomorrow. So, when it comes to decision-making ability in a child, parents have a significant role to play.
