The resultant force can be calculated by Parallelogram law of vectors. F = root of(8square+ 6square) = 10N From Newton's second law F = ma So acceleration a = F/m = 10/5 = 2 m/s2

Resultant force F= sqrt (16^2+12^2) => F=20N So F=ma => a=F/m=20/200 => a=0.1 ms-2
