R= √ sqr8 + sqr (-6) =√ 64+36 = 10N

The resultant force can be calculated by Parallelogram law of vectors. F = root of(8square+ 6square) = 10N From Newton's second law F = ma So acceleration a = F/m = 10/5 = 2 m/s2
