I am a non-life insurance professional with 33 years of work experience in the non-life insurance sector and about 5 years of experience in teaching insurance. Professional Experience: My experience in the insurance sector includes handling various claims in the lines of fire insurance, marine (cargo ) insurance), motor insurance, engineering insurance, liability insurance, health and personal accident insurance, clinical trial insurance, cyber insurance, infidelity insurance, burglary insurance etc. Through these experiences, I gained in-depth knowledge of insurance products, insurance systems and insurance regulations. My long experience in this field also helped me to connect to & develop a network of experts in these areas of insurance. Teaching experience: I have experience in handling entire semesters of 5 credits which included topics like Fundamentals of Insurance, Insurance in the Context of Risk Management, Structure of Insurance Contracts, Functions in Insurance, Insurance Products, Underwriting Process, Claims Process, Interpretation of Policy Terms and Conditions, Insurance Regulations, Management of Insurance and Reinsurance. I have set question papers for various exams conducted by Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning on the topic of Insurance and evaluated the answer sheets. I am a visiting faculty of Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Whitefield, Bangalore & Dept of Professional Studies, Christ University, Bangalore for teaching Non-life insurance. Currently, as an Adjunct Faculty in Christ University, I am teaching General Insurance for the Post Graduate Actuarial programme and also for the Undergraduate Commerce programme. Through this programme, I have taught insurance to about 400 students so far in a classroom offline setting. During the Covid lockdown, I have taught insurance in online mode. My speciality is the ability to connect insurance to various spheres of knowledge, economic activities and various functions. My interest in geopolitics, geoeconomics, current affairs, science, history, geography etc. helps me to make students present insurance from various perspectives. Hence through my lectures and discussions, students can find value in insurance education, use the knowledge gained for their career, gain confidence to write professional certification exams and develop such knowledge into a life skill. Many of my students have successfully cleared professional certification exams in insurance. These certifications include Licentiate, Associate and Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India (III). I am also associated with an insurance broking company and I perform the role of an adviser on the matters referred to me. This helps me to keep in touch with insurance market dynamics, I am a Licentiate of the Insurance Institute of India (III) and I have passed the Associate level exams of III
