Interphase — Cell prepares for division It is divided into 3 parts: G₁ phase (Gap 1): The cell grows, makes proteins, and prepares for DNA replication. S phase (Synthesis): DNA is copied (replicated), so each new cell will have full genetic info. G₂ phase (Gap 2): Final growth, protein production, and checking of DNA before mitosis. M Phase (Mitosis) — Actual cell division It is divided into 4 stages: Prophase: Chromosomes become visible, nuclear membrane disappears. Metaphase: Chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell. Anaphase: Sister chromatids separate and move to opposite sides. Telophase: Two new nuclei form, and the cell starts to split. Finally, Cytokinesis happens — the full cell divides into two daughter cells.

M phase: Prophase—chromosomes condense, nuclear envelope disassembles; Metaphase—chromosomes align at the center; Anaphase—chromatids separate; Telophase—nuclear envelopes form around chromatids, cell prepares to divide.
