The cell cycle consists of two main phases: Interphase and M Phase (Mitotic Phase).
Interphase is the longest phase where the cell grows and prepares for division. It has three sub-phases:
1. G₁ Phase (Gap 1) – The cell grows, synthesizes proteins, and performs normal functions.
2. S Phase (Synthesis) – DNA replication occurs; each chromosome forms two sister chromatids.
3. G₂ Phase (Gap 2) – The cell prepares for mitosis by producing organelles and enzymes needed for division.
After interphase, the cell enters the M Phase, which includes mitosis and cytokinesis. Mitosis has four stages:
1. Prophase – Chromosomes condense and become visible, spindle fibers form, and the nuclear envelope breaks down.
2. Metaphase – Chromosomes align at the cell's equator, attached to spindle fibers at the centromeres.
3. Anaphase – Sister chromatids separate and move to opposite poles of the cell.
4. Telophase – Chromatids reach poles, nuclear envelopes re-form around each set, an
d chromosomes decondense.

Valency of Carbon is 4. The key property that leads to form long chain compound is Catenation. Catenation is the ability of carbon to form strong covalent bonds with other carbon atoms, resulting in the formation of long chains, branched chains, and rings.
Reasons for Catenation in Carbon:
Strong C–C bond strength (carbon-carbon single bond is stable).
Tetravalency allows bonding with four other atoms, including carbon itself.
Small atomic size leads to stable and strong covalent bonds
Hope it is clear!!
