Yes no paper is big or small its a way u deal it with persistence and hard work u can easily crack UPSE exam . It's too easy to learn. Nothing to worry. To achieve your dream you have to put your effect. Most of the IAS officers are from backwards school only. Go towards your dream.

How should I prepare history subject for IAS?
(for BA or MA) and study from their it will help you to have a holistic idea which is very important for writing mains. If you have no primary knowledge of history then start with NCERT.
