Consider the sentence "Somebody cleans the office everyday". This sentence is in simple present active voice with the subject denoted by the word "somebody" and the object denoted by the words "the office". The action denoted by the verb "cleans" is transferred to the object by the subject. The above sentence can be changed into simple present passive voice likewise - "The office is cleaned everyday [by somebody]". Note that the subject and the object have interchanged their positions. The format for the verb in simple present passive positive format is "am/is/are + past participle". In the above example the active verb changes from "cleans" to "is cleaned" and the action denoted by the verb transfers to the subject in this case. read less
